The Tallinn Restaurant Week campaign, launched in 2011 by the Estonian Restaurateurs Association, is celebrating a double anniversary this March: the 15-year old TRW has now reached its 25th edition. Locals and visitors alike from farther away have appreciated the high-quality culinary event as a nice way to try pricier restaurants that one might not usually splurge on.
This spring’s event, held in Tallinn on 11–22 March, features as many as 104 participating restaurants, one of which—NOA Chef’s Hall—has a Michelin star. Of the campaign restaurants, 34 appear on the Michelin Guide’s recommended list, and 16 are listed in the Falstaff Nordic restaurant guide, which evaluates gastronomic gems in the Nordic region. Six restaurants have earned one or more Silverspoon Awards over the years. These are recognitions given among Estonian chefs to honour excellence.
More than 30,000 special-priced two- or three-course lunches and dinners are offered and already available for pre-sale during Restaurant Week. Each special menu showcases the restaurant’s à la carte expertise, using primarily local, fresh, and sustainably produced ingredients and cooking methods.
The early bird gets the discount…and the food
Thanks to wallet-friendly prices, trendy restaurants quickly sell out their meal vouchers and reservation slots offered through the campaign site. Two-course lunches cost €15–20 on TRW days, and three-course dinners cost €25–40. Fourteen restaurants also offer more extensive tasting menus priced at €70–125.
The special-priced menus cannot be purchased on-site at the restaurant—the offer is valid only when the reservation is made and paid for at least one day in advance through the campaign website. Unfortunately, solo diners cannot take advantage of the offer either, as dining parties must consist of 2–6 people.
