On September 13 and 14, the Pühajärve Beach Gourmet food festival will be held within the picturesque scenery of Lake Pühajärve in South Estonia. This two-day event will bring together local chefs, home cooks, and culinary enthusiasts. Visitors can enjoy gourmet food made from local Estonian ingredients.
With over 20 summer restaurants and numerous local producers, the festival offers a wide range of cuisine to sample. Visitors can also enjoy free treats from six street restaurants and participate in a home-cooking tent, where cooking enthusiasts will showcase their skills and offer tastings. Additionally, there will be fascinating lectures on a variety of food-related topics. Each day will conclude with a grand dinner, featuring a delicious menu created by renowned Estonian chefs Joel Ostrat and Koit Uustalu. Local celebrities, including singer Margit Tali, sports personality Jaak Mae, Member of Parliament Kristiina Šmigun-Vähi, and entrepreneur Jüri Makarov, will join in the dinner preparations.
The event will also feature performances by leading Estonian musicians such as Jäääär, Dagö, Raivo Tafenau, Ain Agan, and Marek Sadam.
The festival, which is a fantastic way to explore Estonian food culture and enjoy delicious cuisine in a stunning landscape, is part of the European Capital of Culture Tartu 2024 programme.
