“Organs and Gongs”, the music of Hans Zimmer

Hans Zimmer is one of cinema’s most prolific score composers. His music has been featured in blockbuster films such as Interstellar, Inception, The Lion King, Dune, Gladiator. Any epic theme song to a movie will use gongs and organs, but this is the first time Zimmer’s music will be interpreted using only these instruments.
Zimmer has won two Academy Awards, five Grammys, a BAFTA Award, and his music has been nominated for three Emmys and a Tony. He was also once named in the Top 100 list of Living Geniuses by The Daily Telegraph in 2007. Zimmer has also worked with many of cinema’s great directors, including Christopher Nolan, Ridley Scott, Ron Howard, Guy Ritchie, Tony Scott, and more.
Originally from Germany, Hans Zimmer spent his early career in the United Kingdom, before moving on to the United States. After more than 40 successful years in the industry, his music is finally coming to Estonia for two concerts.
The first concert is in Tallinn’s St. John’s Church this Sunday, 30 March, and tickets are available here. The second concert is in Tartu’s St. Paul’s Church on Saturday, 12 April, and tickets are available here.
