02.11.24–02.03.25 Ryoji Ikeda’s Solo exhibition, ERM, Tartu

Japanese contemporary artist Ryoji Ikeda is known for his art that combines science and music. For the exhibition at the Estonian National Museum (ERM), composer-artist has created two works, The Critical Path and Vox Aeterna. One installation uses the results of genetic research as material, while the other uses the sound work of the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir.

 

23.11.24–29.05.25 Kinky Boots, Vanemuine Theatre, Tartu

The hit musical Kinky Boots tells a heart-warming and humorous story of friendship, individuality and bold fashion choices. With music and lyrics by pop icon Cyndi Lauper, this six-time Tony Award-winning production is directed by Finnish director Samuel Harjanne.

 

13.12.24–02.03.25 Recycling exhibition GIVE A NEW LIFE, The Museum of New Art, Pärnu

Pärnu Museum of Contemporary Art is hosting the exhibition Give a new life, which focuses on the themes of recycling and sustainable development. Presenting objects made from recycled materials such as coffee grounds.

 

19.12.24–16.02.25 Kaspar Tall’s personal exhibition, Viimsi Aatrium, Tallinn

The artist’s exhibition Hingekõnelused Saaremaa loodusega (Soul Talks with Saaremaa’s Nature) takes the viewer on a fairytale journey through Saaremaa’s nature and its creator’s mental landscapes.

 

10.01–23.05 Jazz Estonia concerts, Philly Joe’s, Tallinn

Philly Joe’s, Tallinn’s most popular jazz club, will once again be the venue for many top jazz performances. Both local and foreign jazz musicians will be performing.

 

23.01–11.04 Kullervo, Sakala 3 Theatre House, Tallinn

Finns will be very familiar with the story of Kullervo. One of the great stories of the Kalevala epic compiled by Elias Lönnrot. In the story follows Kullervo search for a just world and freedom. The title role will be played by actor Pääru Oja.

 

26.01–3.05 Vanemuine Foyer Concerts, Vanemuine, Tartu

Vanemuine’s three lobby concerts offer the opportunity to enjoy high quality music in the charming lobby of the Vanemuine Theatre in Tartu. The concert series presents music of the 20th century, from chamber works to quartets and vocal performances. The concerts will take place on January 26 , March 11 March and May 3.

 

29–31.01 sTARTUp Day, University of Tartu Academic Sports Club, Tartu

The event is aimed at companies that want to innovate and network. Over 3,500 companies will gather in Tartu for three days. The event will include expert lectures, training sessions, networking events and company presentations.
