18.10.2024–04.05.2025 Ülo Sooster 100: View from Private Collections, Mikkel Museum, Tallinn

The exhibition marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of Ülo Sooster. Featuring nearly 160 of his works, many of which have never been publicly displayed, the exhibition explores the surrealist’s career, from his early experiments to his later conceptual pieces. The collection includes a rare pencil drawing of the Mona Lisa from the Sooster family’s private archive.

 

01.11–30.11 Taste Adventure of Ida-Viru, Across Ida-Virumaa

Throughout November, restaurants and cafes in the eastern county of Ida-Virumaa will offer special three- and four-course tasting menus, themed dinners, and live entertainment.

 

22.11–27.12 Tallinn Christmas Market, Town Hall Square, Tallinn

The Tallinn Christmas Market features over 60 stalls offering handcrafted gifts, winter clothing, and traditional Estonian Christmas food. In addition to shopping, visitors can enjoy mulled wines and live performances. Families with children can visit the play area, complete with carousels, and meet Santa in his grotto to share their Christmas wishes.

 

23.11–01.12 Early Music Festival, Otepää, Tallinn, Tartu, Laulasmaa

The festival, which spans multiple locations around the country, will feature performances by musicians from across Europe. The concerts will showcase works from the 17th and 18th centuries, with notable performances by international artists, including a harpsichord recital by Ukrainian musician Havryl Sydoryk.

 

25.11 Cinderella Ballet, Estonia National Opera House, Tallinn

The ballet features an international ensemble of dancers from renowned companies across the world. The performance combines classical ballet with a neoclassical twist. This full-length work tells the heartwarming story of Cinderella’s transformation, love, and the triumph of kindness.

 

25.11–15.12 Christmas Jazz, Pärnu, Tallinn, Tartu, Viljandi

Jazzkaar’s Christmas Jazz Festival features 17 performances, including from the Grammy award-winning Crosscurrents Trio, and Estonian artists such as Rita Ray and Siim Aimla. The festival will conclude with a Zappa tribute concert led by conductor Kaspar Mänd and a 30-piece orchestra at Alexela Concert Hall.

 

29.11 Sudden Lights European Tour, Paavli Culture Factory, Tallinn

Sudden Lights, one of Latvia’s most popular and successful bands, will perform two exclusive shows in Estonia. Known for their combination of pop rock with indie influences, their music features catchy melodies with a touch of melancholy, that encapsulate their youthful energy. With multiple national awards, including hits such as “Laternas” and “Mēs turpināmies,” the band has toured extensively across the Baltics, Poland, and the UK. Their album “Miljards vasaru” earned five Latvian Music Awards nominations in 2023.

 

30.11 Jeff Mills: Tomorrow Comes the Harvest, Salme Kultuurikeskus, Tallinn

Tomorrow Comes the Harvest is an improvisational live electronic jazz and Afro-funk performance. Mills, alongside tabla player Prabhu Edouard and keyboardist Jean-Phi Dary, will create a unique and spontaneous musical experience, that draws on their distinctive backgrounds in techno and Afrobeat.

 

01.12.2024–-01.01.2025 Christmasland in Iglupark, Tallinn

Christmasland at Iglupark in Tallinn is back, offering a festive experience for all ages. Visitors can enjoy hot drinks, a living flame to warm up and roast marshmallows, and fun activities for children like workshops and pony rides. The festive park will open every weekend until the end of December, with a Christmas sauna and winter swimming also available.

 

01.12 Museum Sunday, around Tallinn

Museum Sunday in Tallinn, held on the first Sunday of each month, offers free entry to the city run museums. Pre-registration is required due to the high demand, and while individual visits are free, guided tours are not available on Museum Sunday.
