Exciting events in Estonia this week

21 November–28 December Tallinn Christmas markets, Tallinn

The Christmas markets, open until the days between the holidays at Town Hall Square and Balti Jaama Market, are filled with the scent of mulled wine and Christmas foods. In the glow of the Christmas tree and strings of lights, handicrafts and other gift ideas are on offer, along with cheerful stage programmes on weekends.

30 November–31 December Fairytale Courtyards in the Old Town, Tallinn

A guide map leads visitors on a walking tour through the courtyards of the Old Town, where eleven fairytale-themed spatial art installations have been created using light and sound.

30 November 2025–4 January 2026 Tartu Christmas City, Tartu

Tartu’s Christmas City is full of atmosphere across Town Hall Square: admire the Christmas lights, stop for a cup of mulled wine, or practise pirouettes on the ice rink.

13 December 2025–4 January 2026 Lottemaa Christmas Wonderland, Reiu, Pärnu County

Perhaps the most fun Christmas event for the whole family, Lottemaa offers four joyful hours of performances, activities, play, and café treats. Did you know that Santa Claus’s name is actually Wolfgang?

15–20 December Viljandi Old Town Lanterns, Viljandi

The Viljandi art community, the city museum, and local entrepreneurs invite visitors to courtyards and buildings illuminated with lanterns, where various craft workshops are held, and on Saturday, a large Christmas market takes place at the museum.

16 December 2025–6 January 2026 PROTO Magic Forest, Tallinn

In the main hall of the Invention Factory, Christmas trees float magically in the air. Gingerbread wonders and treats from the Christmas kiosk in the courtyard are very real, not just creations of virtual reality.

19–21 December Christmas market and fair in Pärnu, Pärnu

At the Independence Square Christmas market, there are vendors, music, and on Sunday, the proclamation of Christmas peace. At the Town Hall Square at Saturday’s Christmas fair, there are gift ideas and treats.

20 December Christmas at the Telliskivi Creative City, Tallinn

The Telliskivi Christmas Market, held for the third time, is full of music, vendors, design products, and good cheer along the shopping street and in the Green Hall, known for its flea markets.

20–23 December Kuressaare Christmas market, Kuressaare

Santa Claus, music and dance elves, and local gift and food vendors fill Kuressaare’s central square and market with bustling activity. Horse and pony rides are available for children.

20–28 December Narva Christmas Village, Narva

A magical Christmas village rises around Narva’s Town Hall, where mulled wine steams, food tastes delicious, Santa delights the children, and gift ideas slip into shopping bags.
