Estonian Aviation Days 2025

The 14th annual Estonian Aviation Days will take place this weekend in Tartu, organised by the Estonian Aviation Museum. The event will feature an air show, as well as close-up viewings of several types of aircraft. There will also be activities for children, as aviation is a family activity, after all.
Most people have never seen aircraft other than passenger planes up close. Even then, people only see them from the inside, and they can knock on “wood” for a safe flight on the side of the door as they board the aircraft. At a real air show, such as Estonian Aviation Days 2025, visitors can see all sorts of different aircraft up close. This type of show is very necessary to understand just how large these airplanes can get.
This year’s programme features the Baltic Bees, a stunt aerobatics team consisting of six, sometimes seven, L-39 jets flying in close formation and performing various stunts. Based in Latvia, the team have been likened to the Blue Angels, and Canada’s Snowbirds.
There will also be a solo aerobatic flight performance by Jurgis Kairys. If you don’t quite understand what aerobatics means, think of a ballet soloist, or rhythmic gymnastics, but with airplanes. Watching a skilled pilot use a machine of war to create beautiful choreography is a sight to remember.
The air show will also feature several fly-bys, including of helicopters and private aircraft, as well as NATO fighters. The full programme is available in English here.
