Applications for energy subsidy to open on Monday for Tallinn residents

From Monday (17 January), it will be possible to apply to receive compensation for energy bills for Tallinn residents. You will be able to do this by completing an online electronic application on the Tallinn city government website (this website is only in Estonian). Along with being able to apply for this subsidy online, you can also do this by booking an appointment at the social welfare department, who will help you to do this.

You can find out if you are eligible to receive this subsidy and how much you will receive by using the energy compensation calculator developed by the Ministry of Finance (this website is only available in Estonian and Russian).

However, to understand more broadly if you would be eligible, the energy subsidy will be paid to those individuals and families earning less than the average net income. For individuals this is less than 1126 euros, for a household of two adults 1689 euros,  and for a family with two adults and two children under 14 years of age 2365 euros.

Tallinn city government has also launched an information hotline – available by calling 600 6300 –  to help those residents and housing associations interested in applying. The hotline is open Monday to Friday from 8:15 am to at least 3:45 pm (it is open till 5:45 pm on Mondays and 4:45 pm on Tuesdays).
