Arrive at West Terminal by bike, and store it safely in Biketti’s bike park while you travel.
A year-long bike parking pilot has been launched at West Terminal 2 in Helsinki, and it’s the first of its kind at passenger ports in Finland. The bike park offers travelers a new way to safely store their bicycles while they’re away. It’s part of a broader effort to promote sustainable travel, and improve services for cyclists in the port area.
“Sustainability is important to us, and we want to offer our customers the most environmentally friendly overall journey possible. The trip from home to the terminal is part of that,” says Marika Pauli, Head of Business Development and Concept Design at the Port of Helsinki.
Cycling has become more popular in Helsinki, and with the rise of e-bikes, bicycles are now more valuable than before. The startup company Biketti has introduced a new secure bike parking solution at the terminal, allowing bikes to be locked and stored safely during travel.
The bike park is made of durable solid wood and can accommodate eight bikes at a time. Users can reserve and pay for a spot through the Biketti app. Daily storage is €10, 12-hour storage is only €5, and you can also reserve a spot in advance, up to one day before usage.
Whether you’re arriving or departing, biking to the terminal is a smooth and sustainable option. The bike park is located right in front of West Terminal, just a few steps from the passenger terminal.
Reserve your bike parking spot in advance through the Biketti app.
