While we looked forward to them, we couldn\u2019t help the feeling that summer was ending and soon it would be back to school, back to work, and so on. But let\u2019s not get sad quite so soon, we still have a month of festivities, of exploring the country, or enjoying sunsets on the beach, and hopefully some more good weather. Summer is festival time in Estonia and just because the long days are getting shorter and the weather a little cooler, there is still time to pack a few more in. The annual Birgitta Festival in Pirita showcases contemporary musical theatre in the setting of medieval convent ruins. Let\u2019s not forget about the food festivals that come along with the harvest, like the Pickle festival in Tahkuranna or the L\u00fc\u00fcbnitsa Onion and Fish Fair. And then there are the events that signify the end of summer like the White Lady Festival in Haapsalu and the Night of Ancient Fires where bonfires are lit along the shores of Estonia on the last night in August.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">This month\u2019s issue focuses on the Old Town and it\u2019s many hidden gems. While you might wander through it for an hour and decide to head somewhere else, but trust us, there\u2019s more to see and do. We\u2019ve put together a list of favourite places to eat, drink, and shop, as suggested by locals.
