There has been a growing trend towards using environmentally-friendly soaps and detergents, natural cosmetics, and things made from recycled and sustainable materials. Fashion designer Reet Aus (www.reetaus.com), for example makes clothes using upcycled materials from clothes manufacturers.

Here’s a look at some shops and products to look out for while in Tallinn:
Biovegan Family makes natural allergy-free clothes detergents. For anyone with allergies or sensitive skin, you know how difficult it can be to find suitable detergents. Available in 720g packages, either online (www.bioveganfamily.eu) or in health food stores throughout the country, the pleasantly-scented or unscented detergents are worth a try.

You may have noticed Estonians have a bit of a thing for wood, not just for building, but for wearing as well. The wooden bow ties from Wooden Lifestyle are something you probably won’t find anywhere else. Available in different colours and styles for both men and women, find them online (www.woodenlifestyle.ee) and in select Estonian design shops.

With a cool bow tie, you will need a great shirt. Ella Hopfeldt dress shirts are designed for women, made to fit well, are 100% cotton, and most importantly durable. Shop online (http://ehshirts.com/) and enjoy comfort and quality.

Signe Seebid is an organic cosmetics manufacturer using as many locally sourced ingredients as possible. They make everything from bath salts to body scrubs, moisturisers and soaps. Look for them at Telliskivi or shop online (www.signeseebid.eu).

Click on the address to see the location.

TEXT KRISTINA LUPP, PHOTOS ANDREI CHERTKOV, BIOVEGAN

Beyond the world of IT, there are many other products being developed in Estonia. Estonia is famous for startup … Read more

[42,43

post-19499","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-shopping-en","category-health-beauty
["GET
