The city of V\u00f5ru, located on the shores of Lake Tamula, celebrates its 242nd anniversary with numerous concerts, an amusement park, a wind orchestra festival, a night run, a street food event, markets and many other enjoyable activities. 19 August Puka Night Song Festival<\/b><\/a>, Otep\u00e4\u00e4<\/p>\n

At 20:00, a free public singalong begins in the courtyard park of Puka Cultural Centre, where choirs and soloist Birgit Sarrap will lead the audience in patriotic songs. The evening continues with dancing, and there will also be a pop-up caf\u00e9.<\/p>\n

20 August Day of Restoration of Independence<\/a>,<\/b> across Estonia<\/p>\n

Many museums are open on the public holiday commemorating the events of August 1991. Additionally, in Tallinn you can enjoy a free concert at Harjum\u00e4gi Square from 14:00 or take part in the Freedom Bike Ride, which starts at 12:00 in front of the Vabamu Museum<\/span><\/a><\/span> and cycles to the TV Tower.<\/p>\n

20\u201323 August Three Giants Tour<\/b><\/a>, various locations across Estonia<\/p>\n

The tour brings the beloved Estonian rock bands Terminaator, Smilers, and Shanon to stages in Tartu, Rakvere, P\u00e4rnu and Keila. During concert evenings lasting as long as six hours, audiences will hear familiar hits, new material and musical surprises.<\/p>\n

20\u201323 August IRONMAN 2026<\/b><\/a>, Tallinn<\/p>\n

The swimming, cycling and running competitions for women and men with ironclad fitness and determination will not disrupt traffic in the city centre over the weekend, as the routes run along the southern and western outskirts of Tallinn and towards Keila-Joa. Spectators are welcome to cheer on the participants at the race centre in Rocca al Mare.<\/p>\n

20\u201323 August Lighthouse Music Festival<\/b><\/a>, Narva-J\u00f5esuu<\/p>\n

A musical event consisting of four concerts with different atmospheres, featuring ensembles including Eesti Sinfonietta and Estonian Percussion Group, as well as numerous Estonian classical musicians.<\/p>\n

21 August Oru Park Promenade Concert<\/b><\/a>, Toila<\/p>\n

The tradition of promenade concerts dates back to the evening strolls of the gentry in the 1930s in the park of the presidential palace at Oru in Toila. This time, too, a festive atmosphere will be created in a large marquee erected in the park, with stage music, elegant dress, a pop-up caf\u00e9 and a cocktail bar.<\/p>\n

22 August Night of Horrors<\/b><\/a>, Rakvere<\/p>\n

The Headless Horseman, torture chamber and hall of the antechamber of hell, a terrifying special menu at the inn, a selection of the best fancy-dress costumes, magical music, dance and drum shows: the people of Rakvere Castle cannot wait until October for Halloween atmosphere, but are already inviting visitors to experience a spine-chilling themed evening.<\/p>\n

22 August Supeluse Street Market<\/b><\/a>, P\u00e4rnu<\/p>\n

The market, held to mark the end of summer, reportedly has a history dating back even to the time of Swedish rule. The stalls offer local food, handicrafts, design products, art and much more. Music and entertainment will be provided on the programme stage. Free event.<\/p>\n

22\u201329 August Chamber Music Festival<\/b><\/a>, Tallinn<\/p>\n

Eight evenings and an equal number of concerts in three halls in Tallinn\u2019s Old Town. This year\u2019s festival theme is \u201cBridges of Folklore\u201d. Alongside musicians from Estonia, Lithuania, France and the United States, the performers include cellist Tuomas Ylinen and pianist Mika R\u00e4nn\u00e4li from Finland.<\/p>\n
