At the same time, tram frequencies and timetables will be updated. Trams on lines T1 (Kopli\u2013Kadriorg), T2 (Kopli\u2013Balti jaam\u2013Passenger Port A-terminal\u2013Airport), T3 (Tondi\u2013Kadriorg), and T4 (Tondi\u2013Airport) will operate every 10 minutes, and line T5 (Kopli\u2013Vana-L\u00f5una) every 20 minutes.<\/p>\n

As a result of strong requests from residents of Kopli and wider Northern Tallinn, a new T6 line will be introduced at the end of August. Unlike T2, it will not detour via the port, but will run via Mere pst street and Hobujaam onto the routes of lines T2 and T4\u2014diverging just before \u00dclemiste station and the corner of the T1 shopping centre towards the Suur-Paala terminus. Trams on line T6 will also run every 10 minutes.<\/p>\n

The launch of the new route in August is delayed by major reconstruction works currently taking place along Peterburi Road. During this period, the final stops towards Suur-Paala will be served by temporary bus services. The city will provide more detailed traffic arrangements later in July.<\/p>\n

Since the end of May, it has been possible on all Tallinn trams and buses to pay for tickets using contactless bank card payment<\/span><\/a> at readers located by the middle and rear doors as well. This aims to make travelling smoother, as passengers no longer need to queue through the front door or move around the vehicle while it is in motion. The change does not affect passengers using \u00dchiskaart travel cards loaded with day tickets or credit, as previously reported.<\/p>\n
