The golf news outlet Golfpiste.com recently published its biennial Course Ranking results, based on the opinions and ratings of Finnish golf enthusiasts. For the first time, six Estonian courses were included in the survey, which evaluates course quality and the overall golfing experience, including customer service, restaurant offerings, and comfort. Travelling to Estonia for golf is easy thanks to ferry companies and flight connections, and several Estonian courses have been designed by Finnish course architect Lassi Pekka Tilander<\/b>.<\/p>\n
The large number of evaluations received by Estonian courses shows that they are well known among Finnish golfers. According to the ratings, the overall standard of courses in Estonia is high, and the best of them performed excellently even compared to Finnish courses. Estonia\u2019s top course, P\u00e4rnu Bay Golf Links, would have ranked second in Finland, while three strong contenders, Niitv\u00e4lja, EGCC, and Saare Golf, would all have placed within the top 25 among nearly 120 ranked courses in Finland.<\/p>\n
It may be partly due to the slightly more southern climate and the longer maintenance season that Finnish players almost unanimously praise the condition of Estonian golf courses as excellent. On the other hand, sharply rising costs have increased prices in Estonia, which has somewhat reduced the perceived value for money, and service ratings did not reach top levels in all respects.<\/p>\n

Estonian golf courses will also be present in Helsinki this weekend at the Golf Fair<\/span><\/a><\/span> held from 27 to 29 March 2026, where visitors can speak directly with representatives about destinations and preferences. Also attending is Otep\u00e4\u00e4 Golf & Country Club<\/span><\/a><\/span>, which was not ranked in this year\u2019s survey.<\/p>\n A recent update of interest to golf enthusiasts is that Finnair\u2019s plan, announced in November, to operate flights from Helsinki to Kuressaare\u2014located only about five kilometres from Saaremaa\u2019s golf course\u2014three times a week this summer has now expanded. In addition to Monday, Wednesday and Friday flights, Finnair has added a Sunday return connection for the period 8 June to 7 August.
