There\u2019s an old expression about the luck of the Irish, but you could say that the Irish in Tallinn are lucky to be here. Or maybe you\u2019ll be lucky to celebrate this internationally famous Irish holiday in Tallinn at several events ranging from a parade on Town Hall Square to parties at various bars and restaurants.<\/p>\n
The festivities begin on Sunday, 15 March, as the actual day is a Tuesday, and not a national holiday. Enjoy a traditional Irish breakfast at Kennedy\u2019s<\/span><\/a><\/span> in the Old Town at Pikk 13. For \u20ac14.95, a full Irish breakfast is available, featuring eggs, bacon, black pudding, baked beans, and sausage. There is also a vegetarian option for \u20ac12.95. The breakfast will be served at 10:00, and by reservation only.<\/p>\n Later on Sunday, at 11:45, people will gather for a St Patrick\u2019s Day parade organised by the Embassy of Ireland in Estonia on Town Hall Square. The procession will proceed down Harju Street to Freedom Square, where the bells of St John\u2019s Church will play a St Patrick\u2019s Day hymn to celebrate the occasion.<\/p>\n On the day itself, 17 March, enjoy a party at Mad Murphy\u2019s<\/span><\/a><\/span> in the Old Town featuring Irish food and drinks at special prices, including Guinness, and live Irish music at 22:00. Or attend \u201cBeer and Paint Night\u201d at Kartul, where you can drink beer or wine while you paint, even if you\u2019ve never painted before. The theme will be green fields of clover.
