One of the key bands of the UK82 movement, The Exploited shaped the sound and punk attitude not only of early 80s British punk, but thrash and other underground forms of metal. With socially conscious lyrics, the band’s slogan, “Punk’s Not Dead” has more relevance today perhaps than it did in 1982.

The band’s live performances are definitely something to experience if you haven’t already. The speed and raw nature of the drums and guitar riffs ignite audiences into a fiery uproar. Wattie Buchan, the band’s founder and vocalist, has remained the only constant member over all the years.

Notable albums by The Exploited are “Punks Not Dead” from 1981, “Troops of Tomorrow” from 1982, and “Let’s Start a War” from 1983, although all eight of their studio albums have been instant classics in punk.
