He’s a family guy, so we took him to a new family restaurant called La Bocca in Tallinn’s new Golden Gate building at Ahtri 6. This was the perfect location, very close to the ports, because right after dinner we were going sailing. When our group arrived at the restaurant, we were immediately seated at our table by the window, with a great view of this new section of Tallinn from the massive windows on three sides of the venue.

While we each ordered pizza, we were impressed by the variety of salads, pastas, and gnocchi on the menu. The prices were good for this popular new section of Tallinn, with our pizzas costing around €16. One of our group was a vegan, and didn’t drink alcohol, and said he especially enjoyed his salad, as well as his alcohol-free mocktail. When our pizzas were served, we realised we would have to get a bigger table, and our hostess was more than willing to oblige. Luckily for us, it was still early, and the restaurant wasn’t full yet.

The pizza at La Bocca is wonderful, as is their gelato for a tasty dessert.

Despite the size of the pizza, it was very thin, and we ended up getting hungry only a couple hours later. But it was good! Very good! When it came time for dessert, we all got up and went to the dessert display. Everyone ordered two scoops of gelato for €7, but I chose a slice of lemon cake from the display, something that wasn’t on the menu. In fact, I saw at least three desserts in the window that were not on the menu, meaning that La Bocca will often have a nice surprise for diners.

After we paid for Karl’s dinner and generously tipped the hostess for her wonderful and friendly service, I asked everyone how they had enjoyed the food.
