Events officially begin on 8 January, with the Men\u2019s and Women\u2019s Provisional Round of ski jumping. The main World Cup stage begins the following day, however, with the Men\u2019s and Women\u2019s Individual Mass Starts of ten and five kilometres, respectively.<\/p>\n
10 January will see the Men\u2019s and Women\u2019s Individual Gundersen, again ten and five kilometres, respectively. This of course features the Gundersen method of staggered starts and ski jumping. 11 January will feature Men\u2019s and Women\u2019s Individual Compact races of the same distances. This method produces tighter races with closer finishing times.<\/p>\n
Spectators don\u2019t have to just spectate, however. Otep\u00e4\u00e4 is known as Estonia\u2019s winter capital, meaning that skiing\u2014both cross-country and downhill\u2014are available to the public in many areas in and immediately around the city, which is only 45 minutes southwest of Tartu.<\/p>\n
Evening programmes include one of Estonia\u2019s top singers, Karl-Erik Taukar<\/b> on Friday, and the wildly popular nublu on Saturday, both in the Tehvandi Sports Centre.<\/p>\n
