The number of foreign tourists increased by 4%, while the number of domestic tourists decreased by 2%. The number of tourists arriving from Finland declined for the fourth consecutive month.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: left;\">In August, Estonia hosted 240,700 foreign tourists, and 218,500 domestic tourists. The share of foreign visitors\u201452%\u2014was slightly higher than that of domestic visitors\u201448%.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><b>Helga Laurmaa<\/b>, lead analyst at Statistics Estonia, stated that the number of foreign tourists has increased in most months this year. &#8220;Compared to August last year, there were 4% more foreign tourists accommodated, but the number still remains slightly below pre-pandemic levels,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: left;\">In August, 62,400 tourists arrived from Finland, accounting for over a quarter\u201426%\u2014of all foreign tourists staying in Estonia. &#8220;Finns still formed the largest group of tourists, but their number declined compared to the same time last year for the fourth month in a row.
