As prices rise, the Postimees<\/i> newspaper set out to find out whether it\u2019s still possible to get lunch for \u20ac5 in a Tallinn restaurant. The answer is yes\u2014if you know where to go.<\/p>\n
According to the newspaper, just a few years ago a \u20ac5 lunch was common, but nowadays daily specials usually cost over \u20ac8. Still, three places continue to offer a main course for \u20ac5 or even less: M\u00e4eke<\/span><\/a><\/span>, Kohvik Plus<\/span><\/a><\/span>, and Airo Cafe<\/span><\/a><\/span>. Of these, only one is located right in the city centre, while the others are in Mustam\u00e4e and near Tallinn Airport.<\/p>\n There\u2019s also a lunch spot in Kalamaja offering a very affordable lunch deal at just \u20ac5.90. Boheem<\/span><\/a><\/span> recently launched a budget lunch option that has become popular with locals.<\/p>\n Latvian restaurant chain LIDO<\/span><\/a><\/span> recently conducted a survey revealing that half of Estonians would be willing to pay \u20ac5.50 for lunch and would like it to include two courses. A third of respondents said they\u2019d be willing to pay more.<\/p>\n In response to the findings, LIDO has introduced a new \u20ac5.50 lunch deal. The survey was conducted in cooperation with Norstat in August 2025, and included over a thousand Estonians aged 18 to 74.<\/p>\n Feeling hungry yet?
