{"id":151633,"date":"2025-10-07T02:37:00","date_gmt":"2025-10-06T23:37:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/balticguide.ee\/?p=151633"},"modified":"2025-10-06T12:49:30","modified_gmt":"2025-10-06T09:49:30","slug":"viljandi-guitar-festival","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/balticguide.ee\/en\/viljandi-guitar-festival\/","title":{"rendered":"Viljandi Guitar Festival"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: left;\">Since 2008 the Viljandi Guitar Festival (8\u201312 October) has welcomed musicians from Estonia and around the world to perform a series of concerts focusing on the guitar, and improvisation, also known as \u201cjamming\u201d. This year\u2019s festival includes artists from Brazil, Uruguay, Finland, Sweden, and of course Estonia. The styles of playing will be as diverse as the continents the artists are from.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: left;\">The Viljandi Guitar Festival celebrates the beautiful sound of the guitar, and aims to allow performing musicians to first demonstrate their own styles of music, and then to jam with other artists. You could call it \u201ccross-cultural improv\u201d. Audiences never know what exactly their ears will hear during these concerts.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: left;\">One talented young Estonian artist will also receive the Tiit Paulus Young Guitarist Award, which will help further their studies of the guitar.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: left;\">A festival pass, as well as tickets to individual concerts, are available <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/viljandiguitar.ee\/piletid\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span class=\"s1\">here<\/span><\/a><\/span>. Individual concerts requiring a ticket will feature TamTam, whose members are <b>Anett Tamm<\/b> and <b>Karl Tammaru<\/b>; <b>Frederik K\u00fc\u00fcts<\/b>; South of Savoy; Duo Siqueira Lima; the <b>Mike Stern<\/b>, <b>Leni Stern<\/b>, and <b>Varre Vartiainen<\/b> Quartet; <b>Kelly Johannes<\/b>; <b>Jaak Soo\u00e4\u00e4r<\/b>, <b>Ara Yaralyan<\/b> of Armenia, and <b>Markku Ounaskari<\/b> of Finland; <b>Jaan Jaago<\/b>; <b>Valter Soosalu<\/b>; the <b>Andreas Hourdakis<\/b> Quartet; <b>Andre Maaker<\/b> and <b>Martin Mill<\/b>; and <b>Andrus Albrecht<\/b> and <b>Jaan Pehk<\/b>.
