At the P\u00e4rnu Museum of New Art, two new exhibitions opened on 12 September: a drawing exhibition titled, \u201cFrom an Urgent Inner Need\u201d, and a photography exhibition by Argentine photographer Jos\u00e9 Luis Ledesma called, \u201cSurviving Argentina\u2019s Hell\u201d.<\/p>\n

The drawing exhibition<\/span><\/a><\/span> brings together artists whose works arise from an inner compulsion, and fleeting moods. The exhibition emphasises spontaneity, psychological impulses, and the drawing process, often as an intimate and revealingly honest expression. It features 15 artists from Estonia, Norway, and Lithuania.<\/p>\n

The photography exhibition by Jos\u00e9 Luis Ledesma<\/span><\/a><\/span> tells the story of his youth as a journalist during Argentina\u2019s \u201cDirty War\u201d in the 1970s. Despite persecutions and assassination attempts, Ledesma managed to smuggle photographs with him, which are now on display in P\u00e4rnu.<\/p>\n

The second part of Ledesma\u2019s exhibition takes viewers to Southern Italy, especially Sicily, whose cultural richness, layered history, and contrasts come alive in the photographs.<\/p>\n

Both exhibitions are open from 13 September 13 to 26 October, 2025.<\/p>\n
