A touch of fairytale glow arrives in Tallinn\u2019s autumn as the Light Festival transforms Kadriorg Park, the Swan Pond, and the palace courtyard into a stage for light art, music, and installations. This year, the event takes place on 19\u201320 September from 20:00 to 23:00. The light festival is free and open to everyone.<\/p>\n
The theme of this year\u2019s festival is \u201cThe art of being human\u201d. The artworks invite visitors to reflect on the essence of humanity. This may include family and friendship. Compassion, too, is a deeply human trait. Through light installations, the festival poses the question: what does it mean to be a good person in a changing world?<\/p>\n
The park will feature four main light shows and a variety of smaller light installations spread throughout the baroque park. The first show, \u201cIn the Shadow of the Rowan Tree\u201d, begins at 20:30 on the Kadriorg Palace concert square and will be performed again at 21:30.<\/p>\n
The second light and sound show, \u201cBe Nothing\u201d, will be presented in front of Kadriorg Palace at 20:30 and 21:30.<\/p>\n
The third show, \u201cKratt\u201d, will captivate viewers at the park\u2019s Swan Pond at 20:30, 21:00, and 21:30. This performance is usually the most moving of the entire festival, as water, light, and music merge into a poetic whole in the darkness of autumn. The show is based on Eduard Tubin<\/b>\u2019s ballet.<\/p>\n
The fourth main performance, \u201cWish You Were Here\u201d, takes place at 21:00 and 22:00 along Mere Blvd, which runs from Kadriorg Palace to the seaside.<\/p>\n
Parking around Kadriorg Park is limited, so visitors are encouraged to arrive on foot or by public transport.<\/p>\n
