On 4 September at 18:00, the international group exhibition \u201cModigliani, My Love! Vol 2\u201d\u2014in Estonian, \u201cModigliani, mu arm! Vol 2\u201d\u2014 will open in K\u00e4ina at the Tuuletorn Experience Centre. The exhibition continues the story of a group show held ten years ago, dedicated to the memory of Italian painter Amedeo Modigliani<\/b>. The exhibition will remain open until 4 December, 2025.<\/p>\n

The curator of the exhibition is Ewa-Kaisa Plakk<\/b>, and this marks her third exhibition at Tuuletorn. According to Plakk, Modigliani\u2019s unconventional and bold aesthetic fits perfectly in a world that constantly strives for beauty. She emphasises the importance of remembering that originality, which Modigliani expressed so powerfully, is what truly matters.<\/p>\n

For Plakk, Modigliani has been a significant personal source of inspiration. It was Modigliani who initially led her to art, and over the years, the journey has only grown more fascinating. \u201cI feel a spiritual kinship with Modigliani, de facto,\u201d she states.<\/p>\n

The group exhibition features artists not only from Estonia but also from Georgia, Italy, and Belgium. Paintings and photographs alike will be on display. Plakk also has an extensive collection of books related to Modigliani, which she wishes to share with the public. She never organises exhibitions just for the sake of it\u2014each one must have a story.<\/p>\n

This exhibition, too, is a story\u2014one meant to inspire and encourage people to discover art and to create it themselves. Since both Modigliani and Hiiumaa became part of Plakk\u2019s life ten years ago, she now wanted to unite the two into one whole.<\/p>\n

The group exhibition \u201cModigliani, My Love! Vol 2<\/span><\/a><\/span>\u201d is part of the \u201cVananaiste suvi\u201d programme kicking off on Hiiumaa this September. \u201cVananaiste suvi\u201d translates from Estonian as \u201cOld Ladies\u2019 Summer\u201d, equivalent to the Finnish term for a warm late summer, or an “Indian summer”.<\/p>\n
