\u00c4rip\u00e4ev<\/i><\/a> published an interview on 24 July with Tallink CEO Paavo N\u00f5gene<\/b>, in which he commented on the company\u2019s \u20ac2.5 million loss in the second quarter. \u201cEstonia has become expensive even for Finns,\u201d he stated. \u201cThe share of Finns among Estonia\u2019s foreign tourists has dropped from 40% to 30%.\u201d<\/p>\nAccording to statistics from the Port of Tallinn, Finnish tourists made up 41.9% of travelers in the first quarter of this year, and 43.7% in the second quarter (April\u2013May). The Estonian central bank reported that the share of Finnish tourists in January\u2013March was 41%.<\/p>\n
So has Tallink really lost a quarter of its Finnish customers this year?<\/p>\n
