The P\u00e4rnu Museum of Contemporary Art is organising the international \u201cMan and Woman\u201d exhibition for the 32nd time, which this summer is called \u201cLa Paloma\u2014The White Dove\u201d. The exhibition is inspired by the song of the same name.<\/p>\n

\u201cLa Paloma\u201d is a beloved tune believed to be by Basque composer Sebasti\u00e1n Yradier<\/b>. The song was probably inspired by his travels to Cuba in 1861, and has since become the anthem of millions of hopeful lovers. The story of a white dove soaring into the sky has been sung by Maria Callas<\/b> and Elvis Presley<\/b>, as well as Jaak Joala<\/b> and Tarmo Pihlap<\/b>.<\/p>\n

In P\u00e4rnu, you can see how the symbol of peace and love has inspired artists from Puerto Rico to Estonia, and from Finland to Ukraine. More information about the exhibition can be found in Estonian here<\/span><\/a>. <\/p>\n

The exhibition is open until 31 August, and features works by the following artists, among others: Viggo Wallensk\u00f6ld<\/b> (Finland), Agn\u0117 Ki\u0161onait\u0117<\/b><\/span> (Lithuania), Maija Purgaile<\/b> (Latvia), Martin Garc\u00eda Rivera<\/b> (Puerto Rico), Vad\u00f5m I\u0161t\u0161enko<\/b>, Aleksander Mihhalt\u0161uk<\/b>, Ed Potapenkov<\/b>, Marina \u0160karupa<\/b>, Anatolii Varvarov <\/b>(Ukraine), and Rafa\u0142 Olbi\u0144ski<\/b><\/span> (Poland).<\/p>\n

The P\u00e4rnu Museum of New Art is open daily from 11:00 to 18:00.<\/p>\n
