This is part of the lead-up to the national Song and Dance Festival later in the summer in Tallinn. Local choirs and dance troupes will perform, as well as more nationally known artists, such as <b>Mari Kalkun<\/b>. The three-day event will mostly take place along the shores of Lake Suurj\u00e4rv, and in \u00d6\u00f6bikuoru Valley.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: left;\">R\u00f5uge is definitely worth visiting even if you are not able to attend this Song and Dance Festival. R\u00f5uge boasts six lakes within the official village boundaries, and is located in a valley. Lake Suurj\u00e4rv, which means \u201cbig lake\u201d, is officially the deepest lake in the country. Next to it is the renowned \u00d6\u00f6bikuoru Valley, which means \u201cnightingale\u201d. For an extra fee, visitors can also tour an ostrich farm. There are several holiday rentals, a hostel, and a couple hotels in the immediate vicinity. R\u00f5uge is only approximately 15 minutes by car from the town of V\u00f5ru, and an equally short drive to the famous Suur Munam\u00e4gi (\u201cBig Egg Mountain\u201d).<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: left;\">One of the most famous handicraft shops in Estonia is located in the heart of R\u00f5uge, as well as a caf\u00e9, shops, and a bus station if you don\u2019t have a car. This is a fantastic place to spend a weekend during the amazing Estonian summer.
