P\u00e4rnu is known as the summer capital of Estonia, and the coastal city is celebrating its 760th anniversary this year. P\u00e4rnu Day, which was first held in 2011, will showcase food, festivals, art, photography, various other fun activities, and a major concert by NO\u00cbP<\/b> that night.<\/p>\n
P\u00e4rnu Day will kick off with a barbeque on Martens Square at 11:00. If you\u2019d prefer fish, then you can also attend the \u201cMeritindi Festival\u201d nearby. Meritint<\/i>, or smelt<\/i>, is a locally popular fish. This fish festival will also feature live music, events for the whole family, and a wide selection of top chefs\u2019 takes on smelt for visitors to feast on.<\/p>\n
At noon there will be a Shakespearean improv event, as well as \u201cThe Great P\u00e4rnu Day Quiz\u201d, to test your knowledge of the internationally famous seaside city in Estonia. There will also be a guided photographic tour of the city if you register in advance, followed by a short, local cruise, and a P\u00e4rnu-themed stand-up comedy show.<\/p>\n
