Located along the northeast coast, Lahemaa has hundreds of kilometers of hiking trails and boardwalks to explore. Several lookout towers give visitors a chance to enjoy a bird&#8217;s-eye view of the park.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: left;\">With any luck, you could also have a close encounter with a local. Hopefully not too close though, as \u201clocals\u201d include bears, eagles, moose (elk), lynxes, boars, and the occasional human. That\u2019s right: Lahemaa is the perfect place to enjoy nature, usually without anyone else around!<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: left;\">Early spring is the perfect time to visit. The boardwalks keep you above the melting snow, and if you\u2019re feeling adventurous, you can look for the many \u201cnature spots\u201d of interest that Lahemaa has to offer, such as a literal field of boulders (K\u00e4smu), the beaver trail, and bird and wildlife tours.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: left;\">Getting to Lahemaa is only half the fun. On the way there\u2014or on the way back\u2014make sure to visit the J\u00e4gala Waterfall, just off the highway. The waterfall, one of Estonia\u2019s <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/balticguide.ee\/en\/?p=116266\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span class=\"s1\">Seven Natural Wonders<\/span><\/a><\/span>, is usually bursting with water during the early spring thaw, and during the winter it is a veritable ice castle.
