Kontaveit, who achieved a career-high ranking of world No. 2, is celebrated for her significant accomplishments in tennis, including six WTA tournament victories and notable performances at major events such as the 2020 Australian Open quarterfinals and the 2021 WTA Finals in Mexico.<\/p>\n

The film Anett<\/i> explores both the triumphs and challenges of Kontaveit’s career, culminating in her decision to retire from professional tennis in the summer of 2023. According to director Kaupo Kruusiauk<\/b>, the film’s unique angle emerged from the timing of the retirement announcement, which occurred during the filming process. Kruusiauk, known for his work on various successful documentaries, highlights that the film captures not only the public success but also the personal struggles and sacrifices behind the scenes.<\/p>\n
