The vibrant FinEst Funk Festival, which promises to bring a fusion of funk, soul, and jazz melodies, will take place in Tartu today (March 14) and Tallinn tomorrow (March 15). Among the headliners performing at the festival are the Grammy-nominated Norrbotten BigBand from Sweden.<\/p>\n
The Norrbotten BigBand from Sweden, infuse traditional jazz with soulful rhythms and modern compositions. The group, led by saxophonist Joakim Milder, who are performing in Estonia for the very first time, will be collaborating on stage with Nine Sparks Riots.<\/p>\n
Italian funk sensation Giacomo Turra and his band, The Funky Minutes, will also bring their infectious grooves to the festival stage. Turra who has amassed over 500,000 followers on social media, will be performing tracks from his forthcoming EP at FinEst Funk.<\/p>\n
The new 10-piece ensemble Estonian Funk Unit (EFU), which features vocalists, harp players, and a brass section, aim to redefine funk music standards while paying homage to Estonian jazz pioneers.<\/p>\n
Rounding out the lineup is Finnish funk maestro Sam Huber who will join forces with We Got Soul, and neo-soul and new-school disco Estonian ensemble Silky Steps.<\/p>\n
