The festival, which is in its 42<sup>nd<\/sup> year, has seen many talented European and Estonian acts grace its stage, including the likes of <b>Kadri Voorand<\/b>, <b>Jaak Soo\u00e4\u00e4r<\/b>, and <b>Rita Ray<\/b>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: left;\">The first Tudengijazz festival took place in 1982, at a time when jazz music was publicly prohibited by the Soviet authorities. The fact that the young students were able to turn their dream of a festival into reality, holds historical significance as a precursor to <a href=\"https:\/\/balticguide.ee\/en\/?p=119816\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Estonia\u2019s Singing Revolution<\/span><\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: left;\">This year\u2019s festival will begin this evening at Philly Joe\u2019s in Tallinn with a seminar about music publishing, branding, and marketing, which will be followed by a jam session.
