Tomorrow, February 6, Latvian cellist Irina Vylegzhanina<\/strong> and Italian pianist Lyubov Gromoglasova<\/strong> will perform an enchanting chamber music concert at Kadriorg Palace<\/span><\/span><\/a> in Tallinn. The focus of the performance will be on pieces composed by the Italian maestro Giuseppe Martucci<\/strong> and the celebrated Johannes Brahms<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Martucci, often hailed as the “Italian Brahms”, forged a path divergent from the operatic traditions of his time, infusing Italian music with a renewed passion for non-operatic compositions. His Cello Sonata, written at the tender age of 24, showcases a remarkable maturity and Italian brilliance, which is sadly rarely heard in today’s concert halls.<\/p>\n

Following Martucci’s masterpiece, the duo will navigate the powerful currents of Brahms’s Sonata in E minor for cello and piano, op. 38. As a tribute to Bach, Brahms intricately weaves themes from The Art of Fugue into this three-movement sonata, underscoring the piano’s pivotal role.<\/p>\n
