{"id":114051,"date":"2023-01-02T13:36:23","date_gmt":"2023-01-02T11:36:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/balticguide.ee\/?p=114051"},"modified":"2023-01-02T13:36:24","modified_gmt":"2023-01-02T11:36:24","slug":"bach-music-festival-underway-in-tallinn","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/balticguide.ee\/en\/bach-music-festival-underway-in-tallinn\/","title":{"rendered":"Bach Music Festival underway in Tallinn"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: left;\">The first week of January (January 1\u20137), sees the return of the annual Bach Music Festival to Tallinn Tallinn.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: left;\">Bach will of course be heard at the festival, but also the works of Handel, Haydn, Charpetier, Liszt, Vivaldi, Feo and many other master composers of the Baroque period.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: left;\">On January 5 at the House of the Blackheads in Tallinn\u2019s old town, cellist <strong>Theodor Sink<\/strong> and vibraphonist <strong>Karl Johann Lattikas<\/strong> will perform not only Bach, but also the music of contemporary Estonian composer <strong>Arvo P\u00e4rt<\/strong>. You can see the full programme of the festival <a href=\"https:\/\/arsmusica.ee\/en\/bachfest\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span class=\"s1\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\">here<\/span><\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: left;\">The concerts of the festival will be taking place in the Church of St. John on Tallinn&#8217;s Freedom Square, St.Mary&#8217;s Cathedral on Toompea and the House of the Blackheads on Pikk street.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: left;\">At the concerts, instruments from the Baroque era, such as the harp, viola da gamba, harpsichord and cello, as well as organ music can be enjoyed.
