Today, an innovative new donation machine has opened at Prisma in the Rocca Al Mare shopping centre. Donations received by the machine will be given to the Estonian Red Cross, who provide support to people most in need in Estonia.<\/p>\n

The Red Cross takes care of the most vulnerable Estonians as well as Ukrainian refugees who arrived here. <\/span><\/p>\n

“For the donation, we regularly make aid packages that contain essential long-lasting food and basic hygiene items. This kind of help does not solve all problems, but it certainly brings relief for a while and makes difficult days brighter,” said Jukka Pietil\u00e4inen<\/strong>, Head of Partnership Relations of the Estonian Red Cross.<\/p>\n

According to Teemu Kilpi\u00e4<\/strong>, the Estonian country manager of Prisma Peremarket, the cooperation between Prisma and the Estonian Red Cross has been going on for many years through various projects. <\/span><\/p>\n

“The new donation machine in Rocca al Mares gives all store visitors the opportunity to support the activities of the Red Cross and thereby pass on their contribution to those in need. We are very grateful to our customers for the contributions that we collectively raised during this spring and summer to support Ukraine through our hot drinks campaign,” said Kilpi\u00e4<\/p>\n

The donation machine is located at the Prisma cash desks. When making a donation you can choose the appropriate amount for you from the screen.<\/p>\n

The Red Cross makes and delivers nearly 2,000 aid packages each year to people who need them most, with a total cost of over 50,000 euros.<\/p>\n

According to Statistics Estonia, 2.2% of Estonians live in absolute poverty.<\/p>\n
