The rankings, which are produced by <span class=\"s1\">Reporters Without Borders (RSF), are released yearly.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><span class=\"s1\">Norway ranked 1st in this year&#8217;s index, with Denmark 2nd and Sweden 3rd. Estonia rose from 15<sup>th<\/sup> last year to 4<sup>th<\/sup> in this year\u2019s index. Finland ranked 5<sup>th<\/sup>. As for the other Baltic states, Lithuania ranked 9<sup>th<\/sup> and Latvia 22<sup>nd<\/sup>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><span class=\"s1\">Looking further afield, Germany ranked 16<sup>th<\/sup>, the UK 24<sup>th<\/sup>, and USA 42<sup>nd<\/sup>. Ukraine fell to 106<sup>th<\/sup> from 97<sup>th<\/sup> last year. Meanwhile, Russia, which ranked 150<sup>th<\/sup> last year, dropped down five places to 155th.
