Helsinki, Tallinn and Tartu have created an app that allows you to buy a ticket for public transport in all three cities. The name of the app is Pilet.ee 2020. The application is compatible with both Android<\/span><\/a> and iOS devices<\/span><\/a> and is available at the respective app stores.<\/p>\n

Even without the application, a holder of the HSL Travel Card in Finland had the opportunity to buy day tickets for Tallinn and Tartu public transport.<\/span><\/a> For example, under \u201cDay tickets\u201d you can tick \u201cHSL Travel Card\u201d, add the card number and buy a ticket.<\/p>\n

For this reason, the holder of an HSL Travel Card does not need to obtain a new travel card in Tallinn or Tartu. The new app means that those travelling from Helsinki can buy a ticket for public transport in Tallinn and Tartu either online via the app or using their HSL Travel Card.<\/p>\n

 \u201cUsing public transport in Helsinki will become more convenient for Estonians. Thanks to the new application, you don\u2019t need to download a local mobile app or buy a local travel card or wait in the queue line for the ticketing machine while it\u2019s freezing cold outside.\u201d explained Andrei Novikov<\/strong>, Deputy Mayor of Tallinn.<\/p>\n

The international public transport ticket system was implemented in cooperation between the three cities within the framework of the E-Ticketing project. The project has been funded by the European Union, among others. The Pilet.ee 2020 application has been developed by AS Ridango.<\/p>\n
