{"id":102818,"date":"2022-03-03T17:40:05","date_gmt":"2022-03-03T15:40:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/balticguide.ee\/?p=102818"},"modified":"2022-03-04T12:21:24","modified_gmt":"2022-03-04T10:21:24","slug":"online-exhibition-showcasing-100-years-of-estonia-statistics-launched","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/balticguide.ee\/en\/online-exhibition-showcasing-100-years-of-estonia-statistics-launched\/","title":{"rendered":"Online exhibition showcasing 100 years of Estonia statistics launched"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Statistics Estonia has launched an online exhibition titled &#8220;100 Years of Estonian Statistics&#8221;, which showcases Statistics Estonia\u2019s centennial year, from the first population data collected 101 years ago, through the Soviet period and into today.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">At its peak, the Estonian statistical office employed more than 16,000 people in 1922. During the period of Stalin\u2019s reign, statistics were replaced with socialist economic ideas, and for that reason, it was impossible to get a full picture of what was truly happening in the economy. During the Soviet period, what statistics were given were often manipulated.
