This weekend’s Viru Folk Festival will have a focus on Alpine music

Viru Folk 2024 will return this weekend, August 9 to 11. This year’s festival in the scenic village of Käsmu will focus on music from the Alpine region.

This year’s festival will feature musicians from Austria, Switzerland, and Germany, including names such as Hubert von Goisern, Volksbeat, Juhe aus Tirol, and Claudia Schwab. Festival-goers can immerse themselves in the rich musical traditions of the Alpine region while enjoying Käsmu’s unique atmosphere.

Local performers will also take the stage, including Metsatöll with their Alpine-influenced rock, Tanel Ruben’s trio PÄRI PÄRI featuring alpine horns, and the Arsise bell ensemble led by Aivar Mäe. Additionally, fans can look forward to performances by RÜÜT, Vanaviisi, Kukerpillid, Tuulelõõtsutajad, Lonitseera, and many other beloved local artists.

The festival will conclude with a special Sunday performance by CURLY STRINGS, alongside NUBLU and Airi Liiva’s LAULUPESA singers.

You can get more information about the full concert programme from official Viru Folk website.
