The Cure to Perform in Tallinn’s Unibet Arena

One of the UK’s most legendary bands, The Cure, have announced an upcoming concert in Tallinn’s Unibet Arena on 9 August. It will be the band’s first time in Estonia, and one of only two concerts in the Baltics, the other being Vilnius two days earlier. Fans from Finland and Latvia are expected to converge in Tallinn for this long-awaited event.

Formed in the late 1970s and led by frontman Robert Smith, The Cure is widely regarded as one of the most influential alternative rock bands in the world. Known for their distinctive sound that blends post-punk, gothic rock and pop elements, the band have built a global following over decades with iconic songs and atmospheric live performances. Their Tallinn concert is part of a broader European tour following the release of their 2024 album “Songs of a Lost World”, which has received much positive acclaim, including two Grammy Awards for Best Alternative Music Album, and Best Alternative Music Performance, for their song “Alone”.

Despite their long international career, The Cure have notably never performed in Estonia before. The Tallinn concert stands out as a rare opportunity for Estonian audiences to see the band live without having to travel abroad. This concert is part of their larger European tour, which will include major festivals across the continent such as Roskilde in Denmark.

Formed in the 1970s and fronted continuously by Robert Smith, the only original band member, The Cure have released 14 studio albums, including their 2024 release, and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2019.

The concert will be a large-scale, open-air event at the Unibet Arena Quarter, their relatively new outdoor venue. Tickets are available here for the general public starting 27 March here.
