The 12th Tartu City Marathon will take place this Saturday

The Tartu city marathon will take place this Saturday, October 7. The full marathon race is quite unique because every kilometer of the 42 km route is different. If 42 km is a little too far for you, 21 km 10km and 4km races will also take place. As well as races for children.

On the evening before the marathon, the popular 4 km Friday Night Run will be held. The popular evening run attracts people who want to start the weekend with some exercise instead of watching Netflix on the sofa. The route will take participants along the beautiful streets of the central city.

Saturday, however, is the main running day, with the 42 km race kicking off the festivities at 9:30 am. What is quite special about the Tartu city marathon is that the entirety of the route is unique, meaning that you will not go along the same streets more than once. Making it a great way to explore some hidden or lesser-visited parts of the city.

There will also be shorter runs organised for the youngest runners during the morning before the half-marathon runners set off at 11 am.

If both the 42 and 21 km races are a little too long for you, the 10km race will depart at 2 pm. As well as running you can also do this distance by Nordic Walking.

Here is the full event schedule:

6 October 2023 from 20:00 to 23:00 Friday Night Run

7 October 2023 from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. 12th Tartu City Marathon 42 / 21 / 10 km
