Recycled art exhibition explores the theme of roots

The “Anna uus elu” (Give a new life) recycling exhibition is open for two more weeks at the Museum of New Art in Pärnu. Now in its 12th year, the exhibition’s sub-theme is roots. Visitors can admire art created from repurposed objects and scrap materials.

The exhibition explores how the past nourishes the present, with roots guiding us, providing practical knowledge, and intertwining to sometimes create something new.

Among the featured works are Christmas wreaths crafted from old books, a painting made from the lid of a chest found on the beach, jewellery from coffee grounds and much more. Many of the pieces are created from industrial scrap or craft waste. More than 70 artists are represented in the exhibition, which is curated by Marie Virta.

The exhibition at the Parnu Museum of New Art will remain on display until March 2, 2025.
