November is Morocco month at Tallinn Botanic Garden

 

In the spring of 2021, the Tallinn Botanic Garden became the Embassy of the Plant Kingdom. With each month this year being devoted to one country. November is Morocco month, with tours, exhibitions, and workshops related to the country taking place throughout the month.

Tours introducing the plants of Morocco will be held under the guidance of botanist Urmas Laansoo on November 12, 19 and 26. The tours start at 12:00 in the Palm House. The duration of a tour is up to two hours. You can take part in the tour by buying an entrance ticket to the botanic garden.

In November, the Palm House will also host an exhibition of Arabic calligraphy and Moroccan handicrafts.

 

 

On November 12 at 12:00, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to Estonia, Mohamed Achkalou, will arrive at Tallinn Botanic Garden. A Moroccan tea ceremony is scheduled from 13:30 to 14:45. An Arabic calligraphy workshop will be held from 14:00 to 15:00. From 15:00 to 16:15 there will be a belly dancing workshop. From 16:30 to 17:15 there is a workshop on henna painting. The themed events on this day will end with a Moroccan Hafla dance show, which will be held from 17:30 to 18:15.

On November 13 at 13:30, a culinary workshop on Moroccan cuisine will begin under the guidance of Chef Oussama, and at 15:30 Chef Moha will take over. Participation is for an additional fee, and pre-registration is required.

On November 19 the botanic garden will celebrate the Independence Day of Morocco. A ceremony at 14:15 will mark the start of activities, followed by an Arabic calligraphy workshop, a Moroccan tea ceremony and a cooking class. Visitors will also enjoy a fashion show.

 

 

On November 20 at 12:30 you can take part in a Moroccan tea ceremony. Then there will be culinary workshops. From 13:30, Chef Oussama will teach Moroccan cuisine, from 15:30 Chef Moha will take over. Participation is for an additional fee, and pre-registration is required.

Tallinn Botanic Garden is open daily from 11:00 to 16:00. A regular ticket costs 5 euros, and a discounted ticket 3 euros.
