Christmas Market Joy
Get in the holiday spirit at the Old Town Christmas Market.
The Christmas market is known for its small wooden huts, filled with handicrafts, clothes, and more. Find unique gifts to fill your stockings, like jewelry and ceramics.
Gingerbread, glögg, and other smells of Christmas food fill the square. Glögg and mulled wine are available with or without alcohol, or with different flavours like sea buckthorn or blueberry. Be sure to try traditional Christmas sausages (black pudding) with sauerkraut.
Enjoy a cultural programme every Friday from 16.00-18.00, Saturday from 17.00-19.00, and Sunday 12.00-14.00. Watch folk dancing and listen to children’s choirs.
Visit Santa every day from 12.00-18.00. He’s brought along his reindeer too!
The Christmas tree in the centre of the square is truly impressive. It’s over 20 metres tall and has been brought to the square every year since 1441. Some say it was the first of its in Europe.
