A unique concert that fuses folk, classical, and jazzVillu Talsi

Tonight, February 8, at the Alexela Concert Hall in Tallinn, attendees will be treated to a unique concert. A folk mandolin virtuoso, highly regarded cellist, and one of Estonia’s most exciting jazz bassists have joined forces to melt their diverse musical styles into a seamless and memorable performance.

The concert simply entitled “Night Concert. Kass / Talsi / Sink” includes the names of the three protagonists. Villu Talsi is the mandolin and guitar player for the well-known Estonian folk band Curly Strings. Theodor Sink is an internationally award-winning young cellist who is, despite his tender age, already concertmaster of the ERSO cello group. Peedu Kass is a highly regarded double bass player, who has performed internationally with his jazz group Peedu Kass Momentum.

The question therefore is what happens when you team up three men from such different worlds of music? Well, this is what you will find out at the concert itself. However, something similar has already been done by Chris Thile, Yo-Yo Ma, and Edgar Meyer, all of whom inspire the unlikely Estonian trio.

Tickets for the concert tonight at Alexela Concert Hall in Tallinn are still available at Piletilevi
