Narva Is Estonia’s Autumn Capital in 2026

Narva’s official opening of the “Narva—Estonia’s Autumn Capital 2026” programme will begin on Sunday, 20 September. This kicks off a three-month programme of music, art, history, theatre, sport, folk culture, and a lot more. The opening event itself is a symphony orchestra concert.

This concert will feature the Narva City Symphony Orchestra at the Rugodiv Cultural Centre at 16:00. Titled “Made in Narva”, songs performed will be composed by Vladimir Cherdakov, who will also perform his own, and other composers. There will also be original compositions making their first public debut at the concert. Beatrice Huber will perform solos and duets alike.

Some of the concerts lined up in the “Narva Autumn Capital” programme include chamber and symphony concerts, pop, jazz, rock, famous hits, and even dance performances. International Music Day is 1 October, and in Narva will feature a flautist and an oboist performing solos with the Narva City Symphony Orchestra. The iDeeJazz Narva Festival will take place as well, as well as the “Mozart 270” concert.

Narva Rock Fest 2026 is a major upcoming event connected to the Autumn Capital programme. There will also be the Italian Bee Gees, Spanish group Los Vivancos, the Strauss Magic Vienna Orchestra, Italian trio Appassionante, and British rock band Spirit of Smokie.

Other activities and events include a torchlit tour of Narva Castle, a tour of the city’s pre-war locations, and the “Legends of Old Narva” programme, where guests can hear tales of love and honour, and try on and examine medieval costumes and even weapons.

There will be several family-friendly events as well during the Narva—Estonia’s Autumn Capital 2026” programme.

More information about the opening concert on 20 September is available here, and for many of the individual events of the three-month programme, keep checking back with The Baltic Guide. See you in Narva!
