An interactive day at the zoo

An interactive day at the zoo

The Tallinn Zoo is a favourite place to visit that never loses its fascination, even if you have already visited before.

In early June, the zoo opened the gates to a great environmental education centre. A year- round children’s petting zoo is now open, which houses pygmy goats, rabbits, guinea pigs, and more. Bring along a few spare coins, because for ten cents you can purchase a bag of goat treats from the vending machine. Similar machines also sell bird feed for the many species in the zoo.

One of this year’s main attractions is the polar bear cub Nora, who, with her mother is waiting for a new home, as theirs is under construction.

Tallinn Zoo is large, so for families with smaller children, it is best to rent a cart, which can fit up to two young children. The zoo has a number of cafes; be sure to book at least half a day to see everything. On Mondays, the indoor exhibitions are closed.
